  • You will receive an email confirmation of your registration immediately upon registering.  We will send follow-up emails leading up to your registered Camp Cowboy session. You will also receive a detailed schedule, packing list, and directions two weeks before your session.

  • You should register as soon as possible because Camps can fill up fast.  You register for Camp Cowboy when you register for your Orientation experience at  

  • The Camp Cowboy fee ($200-Traditional Camp, $250- Cowboy Quest, $50- Transfer/Non-Traditional Camp) will be posted on the student's first tuition bill in September 2018.  If the additional cost for Camp Cowboy is a concern, please fill out the fee waiver found at  There is a limited number of fee waivers available. 

  • There are a few options. If the residence hall is full, campers also can make reservations at the Atherton Hotel (formerly known as the Student Union Hotel). You may call the hotel directly at (405) 744-6835 to check availability or make a reservation.
  • Registration is open from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. on Friday.  Detailed instructions will be included in an email closer to your Camp Cowboy session date.

  • It is possible to change your session date if there is available space at other camps.  Please contact Camp Cowboy at 405-744-5483 with any questions regarding moving your session.

  • An important thing to remember is that much of Camp Cowboy is outdoors in the middle of the Oklahoma summer so dress accordingly. Normal dress might include shorts, T-shirts and tennis shoes.

  • · Completed Outdoor Adventure Release form (turned in during check-in)

    · Completed Camp Cowboy Liability/Medical Form (turned in during check-in)

    · Light, casual summer clothing for three days

    · Comfortable closed-toe shoes for the ropes course

    · Comfortable shoes

    · Swim suit (or clothes you don’t mind getting wet)

    · Bug spray

    · Sunscreen

    · Day pack/backpack (to take a change of clothes in on Saturday)

    · Money (if you would like to buy anything from the food truck or vending machines)

    · ANYTHING OSU!! Go pokes!!!

  • Camp Cowboy will be an unforgettable experience. The three days you spend at camp will impact you for the rest of your life. You will meet some of your first new OSU friends and begin making connections for life. Mark Camp Cowboy on your schedule now (you have several months to plan).

  • Camp Cowboy is so much more than just learning about OSU traditions. You’ll meet new people, develop lasting friendships, learn important skills all freshmen need and most of all - have fun!
  • Camp Cowboy can help bring you out of your shell. Studies at similar college freshmen camps have shown that 16 percent of campers considered themselves “shy” when they first set foot on campus. After camp, 61 percent of campers felt that they had become more outgoing or more easygoing for having attended the camp. You will love it regardless if you are social or not, guaranteed.

  • Your flight needs to be through Stillwater Regional Airport at all possible.

    When flying out, please schedule for the 2:30pm flight out of Stillwater on Sunday.


  • You will be staying in one of OSU's residence halls during Camp Cowboy.  Just keep in mind that most activities are outside.
